Alexis Yup - President
Alexis became passionate about transforming America's healthcare system as a former premedical student. She fell in love with pageantry as a mechanism for personal development and opportunity to give back to her community. She was crowned Miss Asian San Francisco in 2017 and is the current reigning Miss Chinatown USA 2nd Princess 2020. She is hoping that Rhino Toastmasters will help to prepare her to eloquently pitch to investors as an entrepreneur in the future.
Karina Hon - VP of Education
Karina is passionate about changing people's perception of HR by improving productivity, company culture and creating happiness. She is currently in healthcare but looking to pivot into tech. Joining Rhino Toastmasters has challenged me to become a better speaker, communicate more effectively, embrace leadership and created a community of support and friendship. And one fun fact about Karina is that she is a certified scuba diver and she got her open water certification in Tahiti.
Karen Williams - VP of Membership
Karen is a photo department head and visual storyteller with experience in photo researching, producing, assisting, photography and image management in publishing. Karen is experienced in organization, time management, and managing multiple publications in a deadline-driven industry. She loves photography, art, food, pop culture, music, fashion and traveling.
Chippy Yan - VP of Public Relations
Chippy leads marketing for an early stage education technology startup. She tried 10 different Toastmasters before committing to Rhino but always knew that Rhino was The One. She loves to talk about fried chicken, Taylor Swift, and your favorite commercial.
Sergey Samusev - Secretary
With a background in business analytics and digital advertising, Segey works on consumer product strategy at Facebook. This career enables Sergey to combine two of his passions - data and technology, to help identify and develop new products for billions of users around the world. In his free time, Sergey enjoys traveling around the world, studying foreign languages (trying to master Chinese at the moment) and going on bike rides along the beautiful California coast.
Svetlana Lukianova - Treasurer
Svetlana is a chief financial professional in private equity and financial services. She sets comprehensive strategic vision and has cross-functional experience through various industries (private equity, financial advisory, Big 4 audit, banking).
Kimberly Tom - Sergeant at Arms
Kimberly is dedicated to serving our veterans at the Veterans Affairs Hospital as a recreation therapist. She joined Rhino Toastmasters to become more confident in her speaking abilities, lead groups, and be a part of a community. In her free time she enjoys dancing, muay thai, and cooking for her friends and family.
